Start the application process by telling us a little bit about yourself in the APPLICATION FORM. There are three release forms built in, and you'll need to sign off on those as well.
You'll also need three different REFERENCES. Good examples of references include your spiritual director, a priest, and a parent or family member.
Once these pieces have been reviewed, Gratia Plena will contact you for an INTERVIEW. In the interview, we will be asking a little more about your plan for discerning your vocation and sharing with you some of the expectations in more detail.
After the Interview . . .
We will provide an outline and ask you to send us a detailed discernment plan; you may include things you'd like us to help you with, i.e. finding a Spiritual Director, learning to pray the liturgy of the hours, etc.
As with entering any religious community, you'll be required to complete a background/credit check. Once those are completed, you'll be asked to undergo a psych screening.
The next step will be to schedule a time for the Director to sit down with you to go through the expectations for living at Gratia Plena in more detail and have you sign two documents:
The Ministry Rule of Life Agreement, which provides detailed information about living together as a community, and discernment expectations including individual stewardship responsibilities.
The Household Rule of Life Agreement, which provides all the details regarding the financial aspects and insurance expectations, your participation in chores and meal preparation, guest policies, and the common courtesies of living at Gratia Plena. This also includes the rules of the dormitory.
Finally, all members of Gratia Plena must provide their own heath insurance, auto insurance/registration, and proof of renters insurance.
